(July 6) – First he raced from 19th to second in his “B” feature to advance to the Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic main event at Estevan Motor Speedway. Then Jeff Taylor started 13th and won Monday’s Xtreme Motor Sports IMCA Modified headliner in dramatic fashion with a last-turn pass of Aaron Turnbull. “It was awesome,” the defending tour champion said from victory lane. “I had a good car and was able to get a line nobody else was running.” Turnbull, Spencer Wilson, new point leader Hunter Marriott and Ricky Thornton Jr. completed the top five. Wissota Street Stocks can enter any race on the Dakota Classic Mod Tour under the following conditions. 1. Must buy a full IMCA Stock Car license. 2. Must run the IMCA Hoosier tire on the rear. 3. Must run a 2 barrel carb. All crates and concept motors must run the 350 or 500 cfm 2 barrel Holley carb 4. Must run all other Wissota Street Stock rules–you can’t mix and match IMCA and Wissota rules. IMCA will not make you tear out your cockpits or other items IMCA does not allow. IMCA mod drivers are more than willing to give Street Stock drivers good used tires. The Kupper Chevrolet Dakota Classic Modified Tour is pleased to announce that two new contingency sponsors have joined the growing list of supporters for the July 5-10 series at six tracks in North Dakota and Estevan, SK, Canada. Wiles Racing Driveshafts of Paris, Tennessee will be providing custom made driveshafts for both the IMCA Modified and IMCA Stock Car second place drivers in overall Tour points. Bob Kupper, the owner of Kupper Chevrolet, in Mandan, ND, is once again offering a $250 bonus to the winner of any feature race during the Dakota Classic Modified Tour that purchased a crate engine from Kupper Chevrolet. The winning engine cannot be one that was sold to another driver, as it’s serial number must match Kupper’s sales records to win the bonus. Kupper will stock a number of engines so that drivers who want to participate in this program can still get a crate before or during the Tour. However, drivers’ have to win the race with a Kupper crate in at one of the six tracks on the Tour. Dates of purchase will be verified. Kupper Chevrolet is the exclusive supplier of crate engines for the Dakota Classic Modified Tour as the series title sponsor. This bonus means the winner of any of the six feature races will take home $2,350 if they have that Kupper crate in their car on the night of their win.
