Mandan, ND—With Jamestown Speedway recently making their decision to go IMCA full-time in the Modified division, the Tour locations and dates for 2016 have now been finalized.
The series will start in Jamestown, ND on Saturday, July 9, at Jamestown Speedway. On Sunday, July 10, the Tour heads north to Minot, ND and Nodak Speedway. The series then goes international on Monday, July 11, at the Estevan Motor Speedway, in Estevan Sask. On Tuesday, July 12, its night #4 at Williston Basin Speedway in Williston, ND. From there the series heads south to Dickinson and Southwest Speedway on Wednesday, July 13. The series then heads east to Mandan, ND for its traditional Championship Night on Thursday, July 14 at Dacotah Speedway. Still in the works is a post Tour race at Dacotah Speedway called “The Legendary,” on Friday, July 15. This race has a tentative payout of $10,000 to win, making it the highest paid race in North Dakota racing history. The winners of the six previous tour features will be guaranteed starting spots in the 50 lap Modified feature. To race in the Legendary, drivers will have to enter a minimum of three Tour races.
All races, including the Legendary, will be sanctioned IMCA in the Modified Division. In addition, all Stock Cars will be sanctioned IMCA for the Tour. The support class for The Legendary will be announced at a later date.
